  • Origin of São Tomé dark chocolate: Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe was discovered in 1470 by Portuguese navigators, João de Santarém and Pedro Escobar. It was a Portuguese colony until July 12, 1975, when the islands gained their independence. Cocoa is another of the points that unites these two peoples, since it was Portugal that introduced these plantations to the islands. São Tomé ended up being known as the “Cocoa Island”. For this reason, the culture of these two islands continues to be linked by a common past and language.
  • Flavor Traits: 'São Tomé' dark chocolate is bitter, with an aroma of coffee and blackberries, a chocolate with a unique and intense flavor, made with customers who prefer pure and traditional chocolate in mind. Despite having a similar appearance to other dark chocolates, it has a flavor that is nothing like these, and that makes us travel through new sensations. It is 100% cocoa and, unlike the dark chocolates on the market, it has a very strong density and flavor.
