Region: Serra da Estrela Sub-Region

Denomination: Gives DOP

Terroir: Terroir of granitic soils, with an altitude between 400 and 600 Mts., marked by the influence of the mountain with 2,000 Mts of altitude.

Grape varieties: Tinta Roriz, Jaen and Touriga Nacional

Vineyards: Located in the areas of Vila Nova de Tazem and Gouveia, vineyards aged between 15 and 40 years.

Vinification: Grapes fully destemmed and gently crushed into stainless steel vats. Fermentation took place at a controlled temperature of 23ºC, with gentle pumping over. Light aging in wooden barrels.

Aging: Light aging in wood.

Winemaker: Pedro Pereira

Tasting Notes:

  • Color: ruby
  • Aroma: On the palate it has good fruit, with good acidity and round tannins.

Serving Temperature: 16ºC

Conservation: Bottles placed away from light in a place with humidity between 65-70% and constant temperature between 12-14ºC. This wine will evolve positively over the next 10 years.
