As part of the brand's internationalization strategy, and in the search for new markets, meio.dúzia® bets on the Spanish Market with its first presence in an International Quality Food and Beverage Show, the XXVIII Salón de Gourmet - International Fair of Alimentación y Bebidas de Calidad, which took place from the 10th to the 13th of March at Feria de Madrid – IFEMA.
meia.dúzia® promoted its products and its brand in the Pavilion dedicated to international Exhibitors, where other Portuguese producers were also present. The hall had 1,164 exhibitors from over 20 countries, and received 79,959 visitors.
The new products by meia.dúzia® were present in the showcase promoted by Salón Gourmet and the Club del Gourmets of El Corte Inglés and won the 1st Prize for Presentation of the XVIII Salón de Gourmets in Madrid - PREMIOS SALON DE GOURMETS 2014 where they were in the competition year in more than 1,090 novelties and more than 30,000 products from all over the world.
In this contest, 8 more companies were finalists in the 3 categories, all of Spanish nationality.
The brand's concept, presentation of its products and unexpected mixtures were evaluated by the Jury of the Competition (Jaime Palafox, Director of economic affairs and internationalization of FIAB, Josefa Lueso Sordo, Deputy Director of Promotion at Alimentaria del MAGRAMA, Inés Menéndez de Luarca, Director ICE Food and Gastronomy Division, Cristino Álvarez, gastronomic critic at EFE, Pedro Larumbe, president of the Saborea España association, Fernando Balmaseda, director of Salón de Gourmets, Grupo Gourmets)
The Portuguese flavor mixtures were very much appreciated by our brothers, among them Extra Strawberry Jam with Port Wine and Chilli or Madeira Extra Banana Jam and Clementine with Rum. The mixtures of Chocolates from São Tomé with Fruits, such as Pineapple from the Azores or Passion Fruit, were also surprised. The Portuguese Brand was thus one of the novelties and surprises of this show published in communication articles such as Agrosfera in RTVE, El País and El Pulso and recommended in blogs as one of the “Five flavors you must try” at Salón Gourmets.
The brand reinforces its intention to enter the Spanish market with its presence at Alimentária in Barcelona from March 31st to April 3rd.
